Omaka camp

Come and enjoy a great camp in Christchurch away from the roads with a stream for the kids and eels for everyone. With 15 acres of nicely mowed lawns and plenty of brilliant trees to play in, ideal for family or schoool camps.

I went there recently and had a great time! There were even tire tubes to float down the stream with at the grounds

                                            Definitely come, it's worth it

Soccer (we won!)

Last saturday I went to soccer at Maria Andrews (in Rangiora) and we played against Hornby United football club. Last time we played them we bet them 1:0. Before the game for some reason they were doing arm exercise? Which was really bizarre! When we started I went in my normal right back. We quickly got 4 goals and a later 1 goal in the first half. In the second half one of the strikers went in goal and only touched the ball once. There strikers were pretty good but a well timed move could give you the ball and leave them sprinting past you so you can clear it. Because of the ball always being in the other half I stayed on the whole time. Overall I had a great time!

Clubs
For clubs this term I have chosen to do band. I have chosen band because Ms Hannah and Mrs Sutherland convinced me to after I said I would like to do coding.

Because I have already done band before i expected to learn a song for the whole time but instead for most of the session I helped annabelle and alla.

I enjoyed helping them because I don't normally help people play the piano and I learned the song as well. I am looking forward to learning one call away and presenting it to the school.

My goal is to learn I'm only one call away by when we need to present it and maybe even start another song.

Here is Riely and I's topic explain everything. It is about failed landings on aircraft carriers. It was rushed a bit at the end due to technical difficulties.

Soccer

On the 22nd of may (yesterday) I played soccer in Rollestin. Sadly I lost a close 3-2. In the first half the wind was helping us however in the second half the wind was against us. The goal box was completely disproportionate to the pitch as the pitch was quite wide and the edge of the goal box was only one metre from the out line.

X Country

Before the race

I'm really nervous and eager to get going. I'm still at school and I can't wait till we go and leave school. I predict that I'll come 4th but I really don't know. Last year I came 3rd because Jack passed out.

After the race

I came 4th! I bet Marcus, Samuel, Riely and Jack. At the start I was behind Jack and Riely for a quite a while but in the forest I lost Riely and Jack. I think I will be going to tri schools. Overall I’m pretty chuffed with my result.

Mt Richardson

I was excited in the morning packing my bag. The way up I was with Riely, Alex and Harrry till the last part. It was great to see the top! When I was at the top It was really windy! There were great veiws and I had lunch and couldn't wait to get home. On the way down it seemed a million times longer! I started to get really sore heels about half way down. Then I reached the bottom. I rolled down the hil, I was so happy!

Soccer, 14/5/16

It was the best soccer game this season because we won our first game. We played Hornby at Maria Andrews (in Rangiora). They were all a lot bigger than us but not as skilled orb fast as us. The ball spent most of the time in their half so as a defender I wasn't doing much.

I am going to review the horse and his boy

It is the book after the lion, witch and the wardrobe. It is  great book which has a good plot. I would recommend reading it after reading the magicians nephews and the lion, witch and the wardrobe.

7/4/15 Soccer

This soccer season has been really bad for my team as we have not won a single game.  We went down nine nill to a team that has won every game. It is  lucky it is  still grading  games. the highlight of this game was when the other team got a corner and they nearly  scored a goal but I saved it just in time by kicking it really hard but accidentally hit my own goalie really hard in the chest so I had kick it again but the second time it was not a great kick.

Book review

This term I have been reading unseen by Paul Jennings. It has eight short stories. I have really enjoyed this book and I would highly recommend it. My favourite story is piddler on the roof. Paul Jennings has a lot more of these great books.

Run to Rio

This year our class is running to Rio. For this event we are counting how many Kilometres we do in our cross country training. Then we times it by 100 so we actually get there. Rio is 11,771 kilometres away. I have made a scratch program to record how far we run. This is the program, please do NOT fiddle with it. We would appreciate it if you filled in the chart in Keraru.

grand day opening at the igloo

I walk into school today and there is an excited buzz going around everyone. Today is the grand opening of the igloo. Everyone wants to see what is in there. Lesson after lesson the day seemed to go past really slow. When the bell rang signifying the end of school and I run down the corridor being squashed by some of the older kids. I sprinted for my bike and speed down the street my legs pumping like they have never pumped before, my thighs burning finally I get there. I lock my bike to the fence and sprint towards the entry pushing past people even crawling to get to front. Finally I get there and I walk in. My mind is blown. There is a massive bike track with massive stands on all the edges and in the middle a basketball court. I look around everywhere forgetting about coming home I walk around the track and take a selfie from the far side of the igloo and go back to my bike. I unhook it and bike back home. When i get home mum is cooking the corn for dinner and dad is doing his work.

My dad is a milkman so he has to try get more customers. Madeline was in the corner and Nick was slouching on the couch probably on Facebook. I walked to my room and lay down on my bed and started reading my book I got for Christmas it was called the hunger games - mocking jay. Soon dinner was ready and today we got to sit in the tv room and watch the news. We fast forwarded to a part about the igloo and they said that there would be a basketball game next week. It would be the national team vs everybody who wants to play but it costs $4000 to play and only the first thirty seven people would get in. We booked tickets and went along. It was a blast!
